This is the third novel length book in the Nova series and Nova and Quinton are clean, they are sober and they are communicating.
This is a dark, toxic, and depressing series. A person can tolerate a certain amount of negative and this series drips with it. Forewarned is forearmed.
Jessica can certainly create broken and sad characters that you can’t help but get behind and will them to face their demons and be the best person they can be. The majority of the book is actually the characters building their relationship via text or phone calls. It might not be the happy ever after you are used too but it’s a happy ever after that suits them.
I would say there is enough back story written into this one if you were to start with this book – but obviously all the little pieces of the puzzle would be clearer if you were to read from book one. The content is depressing, it’s sad and it left me feeling drained – it takes a true wordsmith to make me feel that way. Kudos to Ms Sorensen.
