MATCHLESS: Book Two of the Black Brothers Trilogy
When her boss asks for her help on a high profile intellectual property case, the last person attorney Mila Kingston expects to walk into her office is the gorgeous stranger she had an unforgettable one night stand with on her birthday. Navy SEAL Griffin Black has been upfront since the beginning that he’s not looking for love or commitment, which is just fine with Mila, who’s focused on her career and certainly doesn’t have time for a charming playboy. However she can’t pass up the opportunity to represent Griffin and his brother in a landmark trade secret case involving a plant from the Amazon with the potential to cure cancer and the greedy woman who will stop at nothing to possess the rights to the research.
Although Mila’s determined to keep him at arm’s length, the more time she spends with Griffin, the harder it is to resist his easy going charm and his promises of forbidden pleasures. Before long, Mila is entangled with Griffin in a battle for the rights to medical research that could change the world of medicine, as well as her heart.
NOTE: ALTHOUGH PART OF A TRILOGY, MATCHLESS IS A STANDALONE NOVEL
This is the book focused on the other Black brother, Griffin and attorney Mila. Given the hotness of the first book, there is no mucking about with pleasantries. I was swept of my feet with the intense passion of this book.
Griffin … he’s met his match with Mila. She’s feisty and very strong willed. They are the perfect couple. She’s confident within herself and knows there is something about Griffin that she’s attracted too even though he makes it very clear about commitment. That works out fine for Mila, she’s focusing on her career and just likes a bit of fun on the side. That is till they start to develop strong feelings for each other.
Griffin is a great character he’s just as dominating and domineering as Beckett. I really liked how there were two themes running through this book. Their relationship and a continuation to protect all the research and information about a natural drug that could revolutionise the cure for cancer from falling into the wrong hands.
One thing from these books that I’ve really enjoyed is how strong the women are. Sure they have their weaknesses but they are strong willed and that’s why they are suited to the Black brothers. The sex scenes are delicious and worth the hot tub scene alone!
I really enjoyed the exciting developments from Beckett and Emmaline’s relationship from book one. Lots of questions you might have from Fearless are also answered. I love the witty banter between them and I love the growing trust that Griffin has with Mila and vice versa.
Fast paced, lots of twist and turns and a great sense of drama. There is a scene where we meet Griffin’s younger brother Drake and holy hell. Make sure you have some privacy when you read that scene! This series just gets better and stronger. Really looking forward to the next book.
