Refreshing, mysterious and captivating.
I was recommended this book by a friend and was instantly taken by the cover. Once I started the book, I couldn’t put it down. It’s a sweet, young adult book where a romance blossoms through an action packed setting. The romance is not in your face and the action kept me guessing and reading to find out what happens in the end.
I’m not adverse to paranormal – it’s just not my go-too but it’s certainly refreshing to find a tale that holds my interest enough to span three books.
Emerson Cole is 17 and has apparitions about times gone past. The past just merges and overtakes in the current day and Emerson’s older brother is looking for a cure. Reliving the nightmare that was her parent’s death, Emerson consults with a secret organisation to help with her visions.
Enter hero Michael Weaver. He is meant to help Emerson, not fall in love with her and she certainly is not meant to fall in love with him. If you are looking for something that focuses on the construction of a romance while a young woman comes to terms with her special powers, this is the book for you. It was good to see that even though Emerson has her issues, she’s not a bitch or negative about it like I’ve read in other young adult books.
Cleverly written and thoroughly enjoyable.
