Anna has escaped from Devin. Now she must learn what it is to live without a master. Yet Devin will not let her go so easily, his power depends on what he takes from her.
Will Anna’s freedom last? Can she even learn to live as a free woman? Is Devin’s power too great for her to escape?
There is a subculture within our own world that you’ve only heard whispers of. The conspiracy theorists wish they knew Anna’s story. What the conspiracy theorists think they know is only disinformation, put out there to keep them from the real story.
REVIEW by ASHLEIGH (Because Karen was too crap scared to read past halfway through book three.)
DO NOT READ THIS IF YOU HAVE NOT READ ALL FOUR BOOKS THAT COME BEFORE IT!!! Also do not read this whole series if anything and I mean ANYTHING is a limit for you, it will be in here.
Hopeful, that is where Marissa left us hanging by a thread at the end of book 4, I went in with the feeling it may be false hope. Anna is free, with the help of her friends and some powerful Elders she is free. Hiding in New York with a new name and dancing again. She is trying to heal her broken heart and mind, but the constant fear that Devin may find her is never far away. Kevin is desperate to get her back and will stop at nothing to find her – even a murder or two.
Anna’s spirit, freedom and hope is crushed again when she learns she must marry Kurt – who is acting like an ass. When Jack finds her we learn just how beautifully strong she is under all the soft exterior. I cannot bring myself to spoil this ending for anyone – so let me just say it was perfect.
A stranger, a boyfriend, a fiance, an enemy and a broken woman all find what they need and deserve. When reading this series I was challenged, which says a lot because i love dark reads, i seek out books that will destroy me. I live for that feeling of I want to read on but don’t want to. For that respect to Marissa, I will say that there was content that seriously upset and disturbed me through out the whole series. The underlying paranormal theme with that feeling of an absurd cult had me hooked, because even though it wasn’t real it could almost be.
I want to sum up this whole series for me by saying – I had to walk away at times, I had to close my eyes and try to forget the images the words conjured up. I had to say to some friends do not read this, and you absolutely have to read this to others. This last book was the perfect t ending for me, my heart couldn’t have handled anymore.
To every reader who wanted to cut Devin’s willy off – you need to read the last book… to the very end! 4 – This was a perfect ending stars ****
