This book gives me the warm and fuzzies. If I had this book in physical form, I might have just hugged it. I normally get frustrated at the obvious passive aggressiveness of some characters and the way authors weave their storylines, but Clipped Wings is none of that.
Clipped Wings is a ‘love with all your might, all consuming, life is just better when these two are together-never knew what was missing from my life till I met you’ romance story. These characters are so broken from their pasts that their fractures fade away when they are together. Outside forces start to make cracks and doubt but as long as they are together, the world is conquerable.
Restricted revealing about their respective backgrounds leads to distrust, conflict and explosive dialogue. I’ve mentioned before in other reviews that I’ve found some similar story lines to be forced, like the author is leading the direction of the characters, this is so not the case. I can visualise the world of Tenley and Hayden. To bring forth the emotions for both the character and the reader – that is the true gift of a talented writer.
To steel Ms Hunting’s words – Hayden is a man of action – some will not like the ending. I personally love it. It’s true to character; it’s powerful and will leave you feeling like you are freefalling. This is not an ending that I wanted, don’t get me wrong, I joined the ranks of the frustrated but thankfully the next book is out so I can continue on their journey.
I was kindly provided with a free copy of this book from Net Galley to provide an honest review. Receiving this book for free did not influence my opinion nor review.
