Back Stage by T Gephart
Series: Power Station
Genre: Contemporary romance, rockstars
Rock Star? Angie Morelli was not one. Growing up next to Power Station’s drummer didn’t guarantee a taste of the limelight, unless you count catcalls at low paying gigs in seedy bars and second-rate venues. She was okay with that; working her ass off at her dad’s mechanic shop during the day meant she could live her dream at night. She didn’t need Power Station waltzing back into her life, Jason Irwin had done enough damage the first time. Could she let go of her hurt for a chance of hitting the big time?
A one-night stand right before Jason Irwin left for his big break was no big deal. Except it wasn’t just any girl— it was Angie, Troy’s hot but young and inexperienced neighbor. It should never have happened, so best he pretend like it didn’t. Ten years later he remembered exactly why he went down that road. She was even hotter and she was also pissed as hell. Sounded like the perfect combination to invite on their world tour.
The road was not the place for history. It was bound to get ugly.
Book Three of the Power Station Series
Wow – what a story. Just about every page had me laughing out loud … which is all well and good if you’re on your own – but not if you are at work and garner the attention of your colleagues.
The commentary between the characters is hilarious. The witty barbs had me cracking up, it’s hard not to fall in love with Angie. She’s tough but she’s guarding a broken heart. Rockstar romances are my weakness and Gephart has written a seamless story about two broken hearts just trying to love but protect each other.
Gephart has got the broken heart thing down pat. When Angie’s heart broken – so did mine. I wanted to join in the name calling just to help myself feel better. Now, don’t get me wrong, Jason is dealing with his own issues, it’s just he doesn’t talk about them so everyone thinks he’s callous.
It’s great to get updates on the rest of the band. It’s hard to say goodbye to this series. Gephart has created some beautiful times and wonderful characters that are both unique and memorable. She has raised the standard for which all rockstar romances should be levelled off but I’m keen to see what else she has up her sleeve and the journey her mind will take us on.
I was given an Advance Reader Copy of this book.
