When Jonathan decided to help Lisa, he was trying to atone in some way for his past sins. He certainly wasn’t expecting to be pulled into a night full of hiding out from the press with a journalist called Sandra Haegen, and almost being choked to death by a rockstar in love with his ex.
When Sandra decided to help Lisa by feeding Perry, she was just trying to be a good person. She also wasn’t expecting to spend the night hiding from the press. Even more so, she wasn’t expecting to spend the night with one of Australia’s hottest young actors, Jonathan Masters. She also wasn’t expecting to save his life.
And that’s just the beginning.
From there, these two must find a way live with the past and look to the future – no matter what the personal cost.
I have been keen for this book. I love the gripping pace of the drama in this first chapter of this book. Yes, it’s a repeat of a scene in A Beautiful Rock but from different perspectives.
Sandra is torn – does she take the safe route or the one that steals her breath and could break her heart?
This book hit me right in the feels; I had a few ideas or inklings of how it was going to pan out but I was also a bit blindsided. Lilliana’s writing had me sobbing. I was heartbroken and sniffing ‘no’ as I read along.
Now if you think this book is all about the tears, it’s not. As much as this book had me reaching for the tissues, I was laughing hard too. I have really enjoyed this series and as much as some readers might say ‘expected ending’ from Lilliana’s writing, that’s one thing I take comfort in. She blindsides me during the story but it’s almost like I need to know that I’m going to have a well-rounded and happy ending. This book is no exception. Even this ending was perfectly unpredictable.
I bought a copy of this book with my own money.
